this week we had a FACS [family and consumer sciences] club meeting.
we discussed our symbol of the betty lamp.
these were the lamps that early settlers used for their daily activities.
it was chosen because it was then used to light the home.
our desire is to also light the home.
we went around the room and told why we are passionate about home economics.
i wish you could've heard all the things said.
and that the superintendents, and principals, and parents who want to cut these programs had heard our discussion.
that they knew the desire we have to teach these children.
teach them the life skills that these classes provide.
and to help inspire others and maybe, just maybe, have the chance to change a life.
but more so, to allow our lives to be changed by these students.
